Short scale hollow body flats

Sign in to disble this ad
Sorry to start another flatwound advice thread. I need some recommendations for some faltwounds for a short scale hollowbody. Pickins are kinda slim as it is, but I think my best choices would be either La Bella or Rotosound regular or nylon tape wounds. I actually have roundwounds on it at the moment and they don't sound bad at all, I want a bit thumpier sound, not bright at all. I usually play with my tone control all the way down, so brightness is not an issue. Any advice or experience with either brand on short hollow basses would be appreciated.

The Rotosound Nylon Tapewound strings are super thumpy. I bought a set for my Kinal Kompact bass (short scale acoustic fretless), but didn't like the tone much. Too much thump for me.

Now I'm hooked on TI Acousticore (nylon core) strings (though they only work with piezo pickups)

If you want 'em...
FS/FT: RotoSound Black Nylon Tapewound Short Scale (30") Set
