Short scale strings 8 string bass

I have a Hamer 8 shorty B8S that I want to try flats on.
any ideas on finding a set or building a set out of two sets?

D'Addario makes flatwound guitar strings that might just fit as I don't think they are silk wrapped. I think they make short-scale flatwound bass strings too.

I fig I can buy the bass strings but Im wondering about finding flats for the octaves

Yes. Reread my previous post. D'Addario makes Chromes for guitar. They might be a viable option for the octave strings. You should contact them and see if they have enough of a wind to fit it. And if they do, JustStrings sells singles: D'Addario Electric Chromes Guitar Single Strings
