Should I put flatwounds on my fodera N.Y.C. Empire?

So I've got a spector euro with chromes on it and I LOVEEEEE the tone I can get out of it, and even more so I love the feel of the strings...
But it's a P/J....
The Empire has jazz pickups with an push/pull active passive switch, but I don't know if it would be a wasted set up since after all...it's a fodera, and to me it's all about the sizzle with this bass...
After all, I already have two bass's with flats (spector euro neck through and a bolt on with EMG HZ soapbars), so it's good to have one with rounds just in case a producer/band requires something other than the good ol' P with flats, right?

FTR, I absolutely have to change the strings on the bass due to a low B issue that I posted a thread about not that long ago.

Just do it.
You can always switch back, after all.

I've never put flats on a jazz bass before, so I have no clue if i'll end up liking it.
All the money that I was able to throw around went into those two bass's , so if I do it i'll be stuck with it for quite some time.

I returned some Fender ML flats the other day because i thought they werent right for rock music.....is it o.k to use flats for rock ? My cabs dont have much treble so i always thought that i can only use rounds to get the brightness.....is that true ?
Do flats give out much mids ? Did i make a mistake of returning them maybe they are good for rock music ? The main issue was the mids & treble side i thought they dont have much of.
I was going to put them on my Fender Deluxe Lyte that has S-T-Bridge I ended up getting some Ernie Ball super slinkys ! I think they sound o.k at the moment but i read the tone will go in a week or 2

Just keep the strings you take off clean them in rubbing alcohol. That way if you don't like the flats you can put the old strings back on and they will have a little extra zing and brightness
