Should I use different strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
Right now I am using a Schecter Stiletto C-4 XXX 4 String bass, but I use the Marcus Miller DR Fatbeams for a 5 string, and I just toss out the .45 and use all the bigger strings.

Someone told me to do this since I use a VERY low tuning (drop a)

Could someone suggest another string pack or brand that is just as good, if not better than these? I use a pick live, and my low b (a in my situation) just sounds kinda muddy, I plan on upgrading to a SR755 soon enough.
