should I worry about strings on my fiver breaking...

Sign in to disble this ad
If I go from the normal B-E-A-D-G to E-A-D-G-B (to match a guitar?)

Should I worry about my strings snapping?

I use a Schecter C5, strings are 4 days old and they are 45-126 gauge.

They are GHS boomers, btw.

Why worry? They're just strings. Tune 'em and try 'em out. GHS strings usually last for years and years.

I would not think that tuning a B-string up to an E is a good idea. LOTS of tension.

Go to your local D'Addario dealer, they sell 4 string sets, and you can buy the high c seperately.

that's a pretty cool idea but i always prefer a bass with extra strings going downwards insteads of upwards

but my style is a lot different, i find the g string a tad high for my uses at times!

YES. You should be worrying very much!!!

If you use the same strings that are on it now, you won't be able to tune up more than a full step or two without breaking the strings (generally).

If you want to tune it up like that, you're going to have to get a new set of strings. Using the higher 5 strings from a 6-string set will do it. A little bit of adjustment to your setup might be a good idea too
