Silk....

Sign in to disble this ad
I didn't know GHS boomers had red threads/silk at the ends. Don't care much for it on a black and blue bass. I wanted to know if anyone had a good way to remove it other than scraping and peeling. Would burning it off with a lighter affect the string? Its not super hot, but still....

Thanks guys

I have the opposite problem sometimes...keeping the silk on! Its worth mentioning that under the silk isnt too pretty (it doesn't look like unsilked strings).

One word: Sharpie. Color them with a permanent marker. Do it in black though, if you did blue over red it'd be purple

Put down the lighter.......

Haha, yeah I used a sharpie, and it did the trick to a large degree. Not perfect but it is not bad either. Thanks guys
