Singing the praises of Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys

Bought a set of these to put on my 4-string (GSR-190) just so I could have a bass to tool around with when i'm not in band practice, and I must say this was the best idea I've ever had!

They have stayed in tune forever! i've used my Ibanez for 3 weeks straight of practice and it's locked into drop-d any has required only light adjustment on one or two strings, I'm no pro at changing strings by any means and that bass is one that came in a starter pack so I must say those strings are amazing!

I know what i'll be buying from now on!

My experience with EB strings has been less than wowing. I mean, they sounded great for the first week... and that's about it.

I think i know what you mean. bought the regular slinky 50-105 and it sounded great but mess up my action badly because of the heavy gauge for the A-G string. Wasted my money to setup my bass again then it sounded great for the 1st week like above have said they it didn't sound too great to me. Change it to a set of DR Lo Rider and my jazz bass play like a dream now.

I've used the Hybrid Slinkies on two basses (Ibanez and Fender) and never had a problem with them messing with the intonation or action. And they last quite a while for me since my hands get along better with nickel than with stainless steel. YYMV.

I use the Hybrids almost exclusively, and have done so for years.
They are pretty much "my strings".

D'addario are so much better. The tone just lasts longer than Ernie Ball.

Rotosound are the worst, they just suck all over (in my humble opinion)!

I've been using EB nickel strings forever and have never had problems with them. I recently switched to SIT strings, which behave nearly identical, but the EB strings were a hair too short on my 35" scale bass with a Kahler.
