SIT power wound nickel

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All,

I just put SIT power wound nickel roundwound strings on my ESP B50 LTD and was wondering if anyone uses them and are they any good? These seem to be very clanky but then again I just put them on two weeks ago. This bass has the extra jumbo frets on it.

SIT Powerwounds is all I use ... warm/bright, and they last. BTW - SIT will assemble "custom gauge" sets for the same price of a standard set at customers request through you local SIT dealer. I use 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 for DGCF.

Solarmist how long do they typically last? I know it varies with different playing habits, but do they last more than two weeks or so? I play with a pick.

I use a pick also, and use a set for about 2/3 months - do a boiling, and re-use.

Great strings for a cheap price. I used them when i played more rock music. They last quite a long time BTW.

I use a short scale set of SIT Nickels on my Allan Woody bass. Long lasting and sound great to me.

Those are the strings that come on a factory new Ric. The guage is a bit different...45,55,75, and 105. Thanks for the heads-up Solarmist.

I've been using them too. Bought 2 x 5 string sets. Sound great for a long time. My hands sweat acid and they do last a bit longer for me. I do wipe them down and give them a good soak in metho every now and then.

Only one problem: too much tension.

Anyone know if they come in a set with a super light set .40 G string.
