Size?

Ok one thing I've noticed about bass strings are they are so many different sized sets you can get its crazy. So my question is what is the regular size of strings?(I mean the size of strings that come with the bass) I wouldn't be to worried about this but on my last bass I had to put a set of DR's on it and they were so big it bored out and ruined the nut on it and I realy don't want that to happen to my thunderbird because that thing is my baby. Sorry if I carried this on to long.

Thanks,
Nathan

"Light" or "Medium-Light" gauge seems to be the standard nowadays. Usually that means anywhere from .045"-.100" to .050"-.105". I can't imagine a bass arriving with a nut that can't handle a .105" E string. Good luck!

I find .045-.100 usually being the most common, with .045-.105's up there as well.

Either is usually a safe bet.

.045-.100 is "standard" for most companies

I use .045-.105 though (with a .065 and .085 A and D)
