What round strings have medium-low to low tension, are bright and stay bright for a long time, and sound amazing for slapping/getting that digging in-strings slapping the fretboard tone? D'Addario Chromes are not working out for me.

I HATE old strings and EB's seem to retain their brightness the longest IMO. They sound great for slap and all other styles of music.

Slinkys have a slightly looser, still controlled, feel than Daddarios. They are not rough, and stay bright the longest. Yes. The price is right.
If you think about it, these strings are marketed toward, and come on a musicman bass, which has a one- piece, maple slab neck, which is more feasible with a lower tension string.
Slinkys:
A solid choice.

I'd recommend DR Sunbeams. They stay bright for a very long time (even "broken in" they still retain their initial character), nice low tension too. Great strings (IMO).

Elixirs have that almost greasy, slick feel. They sound like a broken in set of rounds right out of the box, and stay that way for a long, long time. That's about all I use anymore.
Also, why are you using flatwounds for that sort of playing?
