Smooth alternative to DR Fatbeams/Hi-beams? Hi I really like the DR "beams", but they don't seem to stand much abuse. I play quite hard and broke two E-strings in two weeks (once playing with my fingers (!), at the bridge and once playing with a pick, at the nut), so I have to find an alternative. So, what's the smoothest feeling stainless steel rounds available aside from the DRs? |
Dean Markley Helix, Sadowsky Steels (Blues), and Ken Smith Steels. I'm not really a stainless guy, but those are the smoothest that I have played. Those can all be found at http://www.bassstringsonline.com email Jason there. He will help you pick a string for your needs! |
Thanks for the reply, madbassplaya! Any other brands, people? (I've read some good things about Dunlop stainless steel sets, anyone wanna comment?) |
The Fender 7250s are nickel-coated steel. To me, the feel much more smooth than many other steel brands. |
