awesome christmas gift! not only do i need a pair of new flat on my fretless corvette but i'm also a big jamerson fan. I'm not entirely sure he knows who james jamerson is but whatever.

do these play and sound as well as i think? anything else to know about them?

Reread the post, he said the drummer dosnt know who Jamerson is, not him.

I've got a set on my Ibanez with an EB0 p'up and an EMG-P and they're fantastic. They really deliver a vintage tone good for the classic rock that my cover band plays. Smooth with a pronounced MWAAAAHMM sound.

You will have to let them age with a few months of playing before they sound their best, but after that they'll last forever.
