Can't hear the strings through all the effects. Don't get me wrong, the sound is cool. But if the point is to show off the strings, you need to turn off all the effects.

LOL Im glad I gave that Pandora to my daughter yesterday for her birthday.

That soundclip sounds like something a tribe in australia would play. A Gazoo sound or something. Ha!

Really. What was I thinking

just a slight slant on those strings. I picked up a Carvin AC40 last month and did not like the tapewounds that came with them. Everybody else seems to love them on that bass. I had a set of Hibeam flats and put them on and they are definitely staying. I can get a thump and a growl from this bass and also a very clear sound. I did not buy this bass for slapping but will try it later today

Thanks Andy! 27 years at it... I'm still learning every chance I get. I don't know of any videos but I started playing chords on bass 25 years ago mimicking Stanley Clarke and then later on mimicking Les Claypool. That first track is just power chords rooted on the A string.... I-V-Octave. I strum with my right hand middle finger. You can see my tech @ 00:27 of this youtube vid http://youtube.com/watch?v=8YLAxRzyPpc

That's my White Benavente 5 string with the original Demeter style pre (the Suhr I have in it now is much fuller and meatier).
