Sounds like crap

i have my strings tuned perfectly and the bass turned up all the way on my amp but the sounds coming out are way high and not what they should be. how do i fix it

When did it start to sound that way? What is different from when it sounded alright?

It always sounds that way, at least since i've been using this amp

rather than boosting the lows, perhaps you should try cutting the highs. Also, if you have a tone control, you may want to roll it back a bit

Can you hear your bass acoustically with your amp? That's what you may be hearing.

Active bass or passive? Have you tried the bass with different amps or different basses on your amp? It'd be helpful to be able to find out if it's the bass or the amp. What are the brands for the gear?

Do you mean too high in pitch? As in your tuner says "E" for the E-string but if you play along with a song, you sound like you're an octave up? Or is it something else?

FYI this doesn't belong in the Strings forum

Definitely Sounds like amp problem, please include more info about your amp, and the history of this amp and your bass, its quite difficult to diagnos the problem without that information
