Here in the UK, stock new Squier Classic Vibe Jazzes and Precisions are wearing strings with colour coded ball ends (green - G, black - D, red - A, and brass - E) and with no silk wraps.
If you look at the enlarged pictures on the Squier website for both the CV Jazz and the CV Precision, you see the same colour coded ball ends and no silk wraps. Despite this, the website spec for both basses says Fender Super Bass 7250ML which I believe have no colour coded ball ends and black silk wraps. Is the same happening in the US or is this a UK phenomenon?
The fitted strings appear to me to be D'Addarios. Would you agree?

I have a CV Jazz and I loved the sound of those strings. Just couldn't figure out what they were until now. |

I don't hate D'Addarios, but I don't like them either. I've had an unusually high rate of breakage with D'Addarios, so I don't trust them on anything I intend to gig with. |

EDIT: My bad, I meant to NOT stainless. They sounded a bit dull to me, which is why I took them off. But who knows how many people have played a bass before you get it at a store?

Guess I'll have to hit the local Guitar Center! |

I've had a similar sort of confirmation from another contributor over at Basschat, who appears to have links within the industry.
So, looks like I need to find a source of the nickel XL 40-100's... |

The strings that originally came on the bass had color coded ball ends. Obviously not Fender 7250s.
