Squire Bronco Affinity Strings

Hi All and a Happy New Year.
OK, can any one please advise me on strings for my new Bronco (short scale). The stock strings that came with it are very 'tinny'. I'm looking for a softer, deeper blues sound. If anyone can recommend a suitable make and thickness etc., I will be most grateful .... Peter

Definitely ground wound strings. Slightly brighter than flat wounds, but smooth and soft. D'addario are my favourite strings company. All of my guitars and bass's have them on, just a perfect glass like tone!

My guitarist recently switched to strings with a picture of Jimi Hendrix on the packaging. According to the shopkeeper, the strings have a higher nickel content and a smoother, softer tone. Perhaps something with more nickel content might suit you.
