Stainless Steel survey.....

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,
I'd like to hear from your experience/opinion on which stainless steel strings you think have a very clear/define low ends (more tipical SS), but with a warm/smooth high ends without too much zing (more like nickel)?
....let's see....

Thank you.

Id probably say definitely NOT DR lo riders? Bc the high end seems pretty zingy to me.

Dunno.

Are you allergic to nickel or something? Why not just get nickels?

Hi there,
no, I'm not allergic to nickel, at all! I've tried several nickel strings and I like the high end. Smooth/warm, "almost" like a fretless. But, sometimes, the mids can get kinda "quacky" (does this word exist in english?) and the lows are too thick, not very clear, undefined (it's kinda difficult to explain sounds, right?).
So, stainless steel are almost "perfect".... clear, defined, punchy, cut throught, but the highs can get a little raw, harsh, too crunchy.
Woa, you know what, I'm just trying to split a hair, here!
Anyway, this is why I posted this thread.
I wanted to get some feedback.
Thanks.

Mo'

[edit] I forgot, I have pretty "fat" fingers, this could be a reason why....
