Question Steel Rounds, Nickel Rounds, Halfies, or Flats?

Ok. I know this was asked before but I think it's a due subject. What do you like/use?

1. Steel Rounds
2. Nickel Rounds
3. Half Rounds
4. Flats

Please give your reason for your preference. Me personally I like the way some steel strings sound but prefer the feel of nickel.

I prefer sound and feel of Nickel Rounds on fretted, and flat wounds on fretless.

I use D'Addario Nickel wounds. They feel great, and they make all my basses sound wonderful.

Brite Flats on everything but the ABG and the '51 P RI, which have LaBella nylon-tape wound.

I like nickel and steel rounds best, and flats next (as a specialty string). I've never cared for half-rounds.

I used nickel rounds now. Used steels for a year but got tired of the pingy high end.

I agree, and just started using the nickel plated Blue Steels. I had never liked Blue Steels before, but these have the smooth feel of nickel with the edge of steel strings. Very nice.

Flats all around for me. But I think I'm going to try another set of halfs on my Hot Rod P.

Custom Fender Jazz (fretted): DR Roundwounds

Custom Fender P Special (fretless): any flatwounds I can find (they're rare where I am)

Ovation Celebrity Acoustic/Electric (fretted): D'Addario EPBB170 PB Bass Soft Acoustic Strings

All sets I use on all basses have a medium gage of .45 to .105 except the D'Addario, they have a .45 to .100 gauge, basically the same thing.
