Steel String Sets -- String Tension

Sign in to disble this ad
Those of you familiar with different steel string sets, which sets have more tension and which have less. Using a standard .105 - .045 set, can anyone give a good breakdown of the various brands and their respective tensions?

Thanks!

Lightbulb Tension...

While all manufacturers are different, go to the D'Addario website. They have a string tension guide that you could refer to. This should give you some idea about the differences in guages.

Don't care about Russian intro. Just scroll down to see a table in English. The seventh column is tightness.

I have found SIT rock brights stainless steel strings to be the tightest feeling. For a loose feeling I would go with DR high beams or Ernie Ball strings.

DR Highbeams are low tension, flexible-feeling stainless steel
