Steinberger string questions, help needed

Sign in to disble this ad
Been using the Steinberger string's for my 4 string Synapse (I use a B E A D tuning).

Looking for double ball round wounds in black,,, I have read about the Status strings, but aside from those, what are my other choice's ?

Or,,, if no black double ball round wounds exist what are good single ball black strings.

FWIW: Since I do the B E A D tuning I just buy 5 string sets and throw the G string in the garbage.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

I do not recommend Black Beauties on a Synapse if you use a B.
I installed some on mine. They look great but the B is tapered to the point of giving severe intonation issues.
This happens because Steinies use a very short amount of string behind the bridge, so the tapering extends almost to the pickup.

Black Beauty sets are not normally tapered. They offer a set of heavy gauge that it tapered, but other than that they do not come tapered. You can buy tapered singles though.
