Sticky Flats

I have just started using Flatwounds and they feel very sticky, Im using D'adarrio chromes......does this go away after some playing time? Does anyone have any experience here?

A little rubbing alcohol with a paper towel will remove it. Your fingers will too, but it will take awhile.

I find new chromes are always sticky. It will go away with use.

Yeah, that's normal. Give them a few days of solid playing and you'll feel it wear off.

Try some fret eze type spray lube it makes them work in a little quicker. Give them some time...they are worth it.

I've recently discovered the disgusting yet excellent functionality of nose grease on sticky strings. It works.

Gouge the crease between your nose and cheeks with the top of your fingernail, then run each string between your fingers real good
