Anyone know what strings Fender ships with Jaguar basses? I just wanted to know since I bought one recently.

Fender install their 7350M Roundwound Stainless strings on the Jaguar IV.

The 7350M's sound good on the Jag and are inexpensive when the time comes to replace them with a new set.

If I'm not mistaken, Jags don't have silk wraps on the stock strings. The only no-wrap string that Fender makes is the 9050 flatwounds, and the Jag strings are rounds. Same deal with the Geddy Jazz - supposedly, the Geddy has 7350s, but they sure don't feel like 7350s to me, and they don't have the black wraps.

I'm not sure if this is true with all MIJ Fenders, but Jags, Millers and Geddys generally come stock with this mystery roundwound that a lot of people are trying to get a hold of, but no one can figure out what they are. They don't have much similarity with any Fender string I've played.

+1

The MIJ Fenders do not have the US Fender strings on them, despite what the Fender website says.

The strings that come on Fenders from Japan are not the 7250 strings the website says they are. They are a Japanese string that is stainless steel, with no silk.

There has been much discussion over the years over at the Fender Forum about this.

La Bella Hard Rockin' Steels, maybe DR Hi Beams, if you want a string available in the US that comes close.
