Stock Strings on MIA P

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone know what stings come stock on a MIA P-Bass? Im assuming its some kind of Fender Stainless string but im not sure, it may also change depending on the source of the bass. The reason I ask is because I want to try out some new strings and I just want to know where to branch off from. I like a warm, deep tone so I am looking at 7150's or Nickel Lo-Riders. Another question: has anyone played both of these before, and can you compare them?

Fender 8250's Nickel plated steel around a round core.

The 7150's are nice strings, as are the 7350's which are stainless steel. It all depends on the sound you're after

Yeah, the 8250s ship stock with the MIAs. I never liked the taperwound E, but don't know why. Its pretty big, like 115 or thereabouts, maybe thats it.
I've used the 7150s (have a set on one of my basses now) and the DRLoriders (have those on another bass now too). Can't compare except to say that both instruments sound really good with those strings. They sound a whole lot like bass strings to me!
