String addicts, are there any strings you collect?

Cause they stopped making em, I've started collecting fender 9050 flats. I think I have 4 sets now. I'm constantly looking for more though. Anybody else like that?

BTW they are my favorite flatwound, and maybe even my favorite string. So I guess thats my excuse.

I don't collect any particular strings, but I never throw a set of strings away.

Until they're broken, that is. Which means, yeah I even keep old rounds around just in case lol.

I do that too. I only throw away the broken ones. Like if I need a dead roundwound G I have it, or a bright flatwound A.

I am constantly on the lookout for new strings to try. I like to experiment with new ones, and will occasionally pick up a set or two to use in the future. I've got my eyes on the tapewounds by GHS. I've gotten two new 5 string sets on orderb from SIT, a set of silencers and a set of light Taperwounds.

No, though keeping spare strings for every axe is part of my repertoire.

I've been stocking up on the old-style Fenders too. I'd prefer 8250's with the tapered E (and B) strings, but grabbed some 7250's at Sam Ash yesterday because that's all they had of the previous versions. I'll hit another shop this week for more 8250's for my Jazz V, if they still have the old version in stock.

I like other strings too, especially DR Fat Beams and GHS Boomers, but the old Fenders are my faves.

I use 9050's in my MIA Precision... I didn't even know that they had stopped making em!
