String advice for Rickenbacker 4003

I've had Rotosound Nickel Rounds on my Ricky pretty much since I've had it. I like that sound, but wouldn't mind finding something with a little more thickness and a little less "clank" while still maintaining that Rickenbacker growl. Suggestions welcome.

I've had good experiences with D'addario XL's. They sound great on my 4003 and last pretty decently. Oh yeah, they're cheap to boot.

you might try DR High Beams as well. Nice and trebly, with less clank, and they have a nice bottom-end as well. I've had the same set on my 4003 for about a year and if you keep them clean, they last without much drop-off in tone. Also do not wear on your frets.
