| I boil 'em when I'm too broke for new ones, or waiting on strings to arrive in the mail (can't seem to find MTD's locally, which is a bummer because they are by far my favorite strings). I usually boil them in water with a bit of rubbing alcohol for about 15 or 20 minutes. Works good. The sound doesn't last as long but it's worth the effort. I'm fasincated by mchildree's method and will have to try that.
