String Breakage-What to Do?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,
I Just got a New Set of TI Jazz Flats. While I was putting them on, The G string Snapped at the nut before I even got it up to pitch! I have been playing Bass for over 25 years, and I know how to install a string. I am guessing the string is defective. Do I send it back to the store I bought it from, or Contact Thomastik? I would just buy a replacement, but these suckers were $$$!

Report it to the store. Cite your experience. This is where having a good relationship with a retailer is a big help. Do not rant.

Your exact problem never happened to me but I've had dead strings a few times. I generally email the company (because it's not the fault of the dealer) and politely ask for a replacement. Most of the time, they send a (complete) replacement set.
