String change effect on action

Sign in to disble this ad
After putting Labella flats on my Dean Bromberg B2 fiver, it seems the action is signficantly higher. I understand with higher tension, it would cause more bow in the neck and I will need to make a truss rod adjustment to counter. I'm just surprised the extent to which it changed the action.

Anyone else experience this?

That's normal. A TR adjustment should correct it.

Do you like how they sound?

Really when changing string guage/brand/type you should perform a complete setup. Intonation can change even when just changing strings.
