String choice? ......Sweaty Hands

Sign in to disble this ad
Ever since i was a kid my hands have sweated really bad for no reason at all. Being a bass player you can imagine what my string life is. One gig and they are dead(no exageration). The only ones that i have tried that stay bright after a good 4 or 5 gigs are the Elixers but im wanting to get a different sound and i am limited on string choice. Does anybody know of any other strings with some type of coating of some sort that i can try? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I play a Modulus Quantum 5 if anyone needs to know what i will be putting them on. Thanks

I can't sing the praises of DR ExtraLifes enough. They are amazing strings.

Either the coated strings or the tapewounds. That's it. Almost every string manufacturer offers some sort of coated string. LaBella, Fender, D'Addario, Rotosound, And GHS offer tapewounds, and I am sure there are others.
My only experience with coated strings are Elixers and D'Addarios. I liked the D's more than the Elixers, but wasn't crazy about either. DR Black Beauties and Rotosound Nexus strings may be what I try next.
