String Damper?

Sign in to disble this ad
Iv'e seen Melvin Davis and also Richard Bono with something that looks like it is a string damper very close to the bridge, inbetween the bridge pickup and the bridge,i know you can use a piece of foam as a damper, but this looks nicer!!and i guess it's adjustable, does anyone know if this IS a damper?or could it be a extra pickup?or a piezo pickup?and if it's damper, who sells them, thank

It didn't look the same as that,it didn't have the segments cut out,it looked all one piece curved to the neck radius,so still looking, but that's very much for the info.

Maybe you're talking about the VBass pickup? I know Bona uses that...

Both the VBass and the Damper are great!

Rent the DVD with Mike Stern and Bona (Chambers on drums)... Bona kills on that DVD and he's using the VBass.
