String Endorsement

I might have a lead in getting a string endorsement. Its great to be able to get free strings, but are there any drawbacks? If you are, or where endorsed, what where some of the pros and cons (if any). Please share

I have a string endorsement and its a beautiful thing... usually. The main issue for me is calling prior to being out so Im not waiting on strings for 3 weeks.

Good luck!

Well at one point we were signed to Atlantic and had an awesome manager who helped get us the string deal. The manufacturers just look at how often you play and if you'll be in front of people who might consider buying their strings based on your endorsement. But the string deal was free however we are no longer signed and no longer have management but we STILL hold the endorsement. We also got a deal with G&L but it was a discount (like 50% off)artists program and not a free gear kind of thing. But still cool.

Might I also add that ALL companies endorse. I had some friends in Houston in a local band who had a endorsement with Dr Martin... they all got Dr Martin shoes for free but had to keep the company informed of their shows and anything going on with their band. Endorsement deals are out there you just have to find them. It aint easy but endorsement deals do exist and NOT just for national acts signed to majors.

It appears that you are confused about who does the endorsing.

There shouldn't be. I'm lucky to endorse companies that I'd be using their products without the endorsement, so for me, it's all a bonus.

Only thing to consider with strings is just to get a couple sets at a time. I've been ordering four at a time, and ordering again once you hit that last set.

I was endorsed for 5 years.. it was a ton and ton of work.. I did it because I believed in the gear.

ARRGH!!!!!!!!!!

THE ARTIST ENDORSES, NOT THE MANUFACTURER!!!!!

You were NOT endorsed, you endorsed them.

Jimmy Haslip is endorsed by Roscoe. :-)

I don't think those REALLY tiny companies like LDS do endorsements, though, so you are correct.

I agree with a few of these guys. To many people just want the free product just for the sake that it's free or reduced price. Only endorse companies that you believe in or have products that you all ready use. Like if you don't play Rotosounds don't try for an endorsement with them.
