string ends !!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I have these 2 cheap packs of strings i bought while i was on holiday. they worked fine on my old bass. but on my jazz, when i put them on and tune them too tight they just fly out of the bridge.

The ends of these strings are way too small. the rotosounds which came with my jazz fit fine.

are most good strings meant to be able to fit all basses? or are there various sizes of string ends?

I thought the ends of strings were a standard universal size. Maybe if you put a paperclip wire through the 4 (or 5 or 6) ends in a straight line, they will not be able to go through the bridge anymore.

For narrower strings in the set you can just slip them through a standard BASS ball end.
