String gauge for tapping when tuned DADG

Sign in to disble this ad
.35 .55 .75 .95
G D A D

These are probably a great set for tapping I guess.
But I tune dropped D, so would a .95 string be to thin ?
Or does it only make it easier to tap with your left hand in the low register ?
Will I sacrifice tone when played fingerstyle ?

Is this a better set : .40 .60 .80 .100 ?

Does anyone have any experience in this.

I play metal so I really dig the rattling tone of a heavy string when played fingerstyle.

Is there a happy medium ?
