string help for DGCF - CGCF

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everybody.
I have to tune my 4 string P-bass D G C F
and sometimes C G C F.
I m a fan of Enrie Ball nickelwounds but cant find a set that has the right numbers.
55 - 75 - 90 - 115.
Any suggestions?

Build a custom set from single strings? Start with your preferred set for DGCF and then increase the lowest gauge by .005, this way in DGCF the lowest string is slightly tighter than your preferred tension, and in CGCF it is slightly looser than your preferred tension. This method splits the tension difference between C and D and minimises the tension imbalances.

Build your own set right here:
Build your own string set!

Any of those brands are a step up from Ernie Ball if you ask me.
