Looking for a string ID on a used bass I picked up.
5 string set, with tapered B
Black silks at headstock end only
Brass ball ends
Appear to be nickel, but could be stainless
Labella deep talkin rounds maybe.
A man once asks me to play bass in his metal band.. He claimed that he could identify any set of strings by smelling them.
Unfortunately, I do not possess this skill.
If you do, I would certainly use it to your advantage.
I've been touring with them for the past month. They smell like PBR and funnel cake. Does that help?
I'd say LA Bella. Could be stainless or nickel. Unfortunately they stopped silking their rounds.
I'm not finding any LaBella's that match these. I'm pretty sure these are nickle rounds. Any other ideas?
From an incomplete compilation that I've put together-
Mostly from other's statements:...
Fender MIM NPS round Black
stock Fender- Black
La Bella Super Steps - black silk.
La Bella Hard Rockin Steel - Black silk
760FS (Standard .045 .065 .085 .105) - Black Silk
GHS pressurewounds black silks
Carvin rounds = black
Elites Stadiums - Black Silk, or Blue
Haven't verified any of those for myself, except the LaBella's and they're s/s.
Got ahold of the seller, and they ARE indeed LeBella strings. You guys nailed it. Thanks Again!!
