STRING IDEAS?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I currently use LaBella flats, medium gauge, and would like to try some rounds for a change. I have a P-Bass if it matters at all, but not a string through. I like a medium/medium-heavy tension, and am going for warmth, but with a little more edge than the flats. I certainly don't want super zingy strings, so any recommendations would be appreciated.

if you want a bit more edge with warmth, why don't try nickelwounds?
I have nickels on them too, and I love it.

I'm a flatwound guy myself and i have got some great results with the GHS pressurewounds on my P-bass. You have the flatwound feel but with a mix of 50% roundwound tone and 50%flatwound tone IMO.

I have also heard good stuff about the D'addario Half rounds but haven't tried them myself.
