String identification help please

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently bought an MIA Jazz off a friend who had never changed the strings (over a period of about 2 years) and as such couldn't remember what brand they were. I broke the E string the other day accidentally and would like to replace the strings with the same type but can't figure out what brand they are. They're roundwound, I'm pretty sure nickel-plated steel (either that or pure nickel) with a greyish-silver wrap on the ends of the strings. Anyone know what these might be?

Awesome, thanks ... I had guessed as much but wanted to be sure, since the shop he got it from often puts on strings other than the stock strings. Much appreciated.

Grey wraps would be 8250's by Fender

7150's have gold wrap
7250's have black wrap
7350's have red wrap

Hope that helps. IMHO, Fender strings are great strings, and not too expensive, you can't go wrong with them
