Is it just my bad luck, or does it usually take a long time to get strings when you order online?
I ordered a set of LaBellas from bassguitarstrings.us/ - they were listed as "in stock" and I got an order confirmation about 12 days ago. Nothing yet.
When I ordered a Tapewound Rotosound set from JustStrings, they took about 3-4 weeks to get here (probably special order though).
And when I ordered a set of Ritter's "Black Knights" strings, they took about 2 months.
I've also had 2 seperate shipments of strings (from a TB'er) get completely lost in the mail recently
I go through serious string 'phases', and right now I'm just really anxious to get the LaBella's on my Stambaugh. The TI Jazz Rounds just aren't doing it for me lately

I ordered a T-shirt 3 years ago, still hasn't gotten here .
It's a long haul from Germany, though!

| | | | Sounds like bad luck. I just ordered a bunch of rotos (2 sets and 5 singles) from just strings. The C strings were out of stock, but they shipped the rest (fortunately, I had a broken A on an otherwise new set), and the other strings shipped about 10 days later when they came in. |

To be fair, I think the people I order from have done a good job. They have always warned me about delays due to waiting for La Bella or whoever to fill the order.
I don't think most online retailers or the manufacturers keep warehouses full of strings. I believe manufacturers just fill orders for odd things like black tapewound high C strings when they can, on an ad hoc basis.

Took the Ken Lawrence to a rehearsal (rock band) on Wednesday and struggled the whole time trying to get a good tone. My usual settings (mostly flat, little on-board bass boost) weren't doing it and none of my tweaking seemed to help much. It just wasn't cutting through, and the tone wasn't very well defined. I took 'em off earlier today and put on a used set of Carvin Nickel Rounds that I had on the bass before. Took the bass back to the same band's rehearsal today and it sounded amazing, as before.
I don't know what happened, since I had high hopes for these strings. I've been really impressed with the Carvin Nickel rounds though. They came on the Lakland, and are what I used in the two videos on my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEkn9Xq_yCs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGKvbImGDT4
Just switched them to my Ken Lawrence since I decided to use that bass on an upcoming gig (tomorrow!). The B was really dead though (still has great tone, just not even with the other strings) so I put a Fodera B-string on in its place. Works perfectly!
I haven't played the Lakland much with the LaBellas on it yet, but I think the next strings I get will be the Carvin Nickel Rounds. Can't beat that price too, $12.99 a set
