Definately new rounds. DR Hi Beams just don't sound the same after a week or two (not that I change them that often).

I voted new rounds.

I actually prefer Elixirs on almost any bass.

You can get away with leaving Elixirs on longer than most other strings, as they don't sound new when they are new, but that's what I like about them.

DR Hi Beams on a Warwick Thumb B.O. and Corvette Standard (both 5 strings). They just sound great IMO and help give me "my sound."

Pity you can only have one choice. I voted old flats, (TI's) but now and then I like to switch to my other bass which which has rounds. I'm sure there are lots of people who like both.

I like zingy strings the best. You get a really nice treble response even when you turn down the treble control. When strings die, you can turn up the treble, but it always sounds harsh to me. I change strings about once every 2 months unless they really die fast.

Ugh, only one vote. Personal opinion... if it's on a bass it sounds good.
I'm going to go with new rounds because using the eq and my hands i can get the most dynamic range of sounds
