string recommendation low b

hi, i have an esp surveyor with ernie ball slinkys on it and the b string i just too floppy for me. ive looked for other recomendations but none hit what im asking. if anyone could recommend higher gauge string for tighter b plz help

Flats. Chromes, specifically. They're affordable, have a strong, punchy mid presence, and still have nice low end thump. They're also thicker and have a higher tension.

If you like a .105 for E consider a .135 or so for your B

Normal for E is anything from .095 to .105. Biggest complaint on B strings is they tend to be too floppy as compared to the normal E string.

There will be no getting around figuring out what YOU like, but as a starting point try and find a 5 string set with a .100 E and a .135 B. Those two gauges will be fairly close in tension and will require a less refined playing technique.

If after playing them they seem too tight/rigid for you consider a set with a .095 E and .130 B.

+1 - When I moved to a .135 B on my ATK 5 string, it was PERFECT tension wise, and sound wise. using .105 - .45 on E-G. D'Addario XLs.
