String Recommendations Short Scale

I have a Gibson SG Supreme, (sweet bass) short scale. Current using flats, like the tone, but the strings kill my fingers. Looking for recommendations for short scale rounds.

Thanks

The originals: Labella Deep Talkin' flats. They come in a number of gauges even in short scale. juststrings.com is one place that carries them and delivers quickly.

I've been liking the Alembic CX-3 compression wound strings on my short scale. They are a lot lighter than flats tension wise and they sound great too.

As mentioned already juststrings.com is the place to get them and they aren't that expensive.

SIT Powerwounds in Nickel. Being a .40-.95 set they might be considered floppy, but oh, what a tone.http://www.juststrings.com/sit-shnr-4095.html

Rotosound has most of their bass string versions available in short scale. Swing66 would be my fave for theirs.

Seconded. However, if you want to keep that thumpy flatwound tone, I would either use flatwounds, tapewounds, or nylons. I personally prefer Rotosound's flats and nylons, but to each his or her own.

I put a set of short D'Addario XL environmental nickels on my longhorn - I like them much better than the flats that were on it.

Strings kill your fingers because of high tension? If so, check out rotosound trubass 88's, nylon flats with nice and easy tension, but not floppy at all.
