Which string set do you recommend for this down tuning?

We play in Eb Ab Db Gb and Db Ab Db Gb (half step down and drop D half step down). These will be put on a EB MM Stingray. Either the DR SS HI-Beams Heavy (110 90 70 50) or the DR SS Lo-Riders Heavy (110 90 70 50). Or should I custom order some from Just strings with a heavier E string (115)?

On the hard La Bella hard rockin' steels Drop D set has the D and G strings at 54 and 75 respectively. Would the tension on those tuned at Db and Gb (C#, F#) not be too much? I normally play standard tuning with 105 85 65 45 and I would swap between eadg and dadg tuning. I thought if I just upped the gauge .05 then my tension would be pretty close to the same as it was with standard tuning.

Yeah sorry for not being specific, I suggest getting a 5 string set and taking out the E string. So use the the other string for the Db A Db G. Or if you can find them individually that would be best. I just love those strings...DR's are good from the Lo-Riders I've tried but I prefer La'Bellas

135 and or 125 seems like a huge gauge for only Eb. I played Drop D with 105. and the tension didn't bother me that bad. It was slightly loose but I was fine with it.

I use DR Lo-Riders SS heavy gauge .50-.110 and tune down to BEAD and it sounds great! I use fingerstyle mostly though b/c otherwise I would have to raise my string height if I used a pick (can get pretty clanky) due to the low tuning.

Great....I think I might try out the Hi-beams 1st though. I play fingerstyle too so hopefully these will work great.

Hi-Beams are amazing for fingerstyle and metal, especially drop tunings and the .105's are just fine for that not loose at all, I use them on my hunderbird which I keep in drop D
