string shopping today....decision time!

OLP Stingray ready for new strings. It's got a Bartolini MMC pickup. I'm going for an aggressive, biting, punching, burping, modern sounding beasty. Mix of pick and fingerstyle.

Any input appreciated, leaning toward DR HiBeams or Roto 66's, most likely going with 45-100 set (after using Lo-Rider 45-105 on a Fender, I think the 105 will be overbearing on the OLP)

After searching, is the consensus opinion one of a player can't go wrong either way?

Dr's are good. Heard the 66's don't last long.

that's what i read. that combined with no roto's in town and i got hi beams, 45-105's.

fingers are hurting a bit after two hours of playing!

sound is getting closer to my needs. attack, bite, and brightness are there....now to find burps and punch.

I just bought 5 sets of Dean Markley Blue Steel 5-String for $100 CDN. They normally cost me $40 a set.

Today is a good day.

the Hi-beams's settle down after a couple weeks. I've heard they sound like lo-riders then. Never used lo's but I would say that my bass now sounds a little darker, but not much.
