String Suggestion for a 2008 Fender American Standard Jazz V

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking for string suggestions for a 2008 Fender American Standard Jazz Bass V that I have on the way. Looking for something that can be strung through the body. Not real excited about Fender strings but if you guys say that the best thing for it then so be it. More of DR kind of guy. Any thoughts would be helpful.

I use DR Hi-Beams on my Alder Rosewood American Deluxe V. They are perfect on there.

*Strung through body or through bridge? If through body how is the angle break over the B string saddle with the non tapered string.

*I was thinking maybe Long Necks. Anyone tried them?

Strung thru body. No problems on the break angle.

I don't think you need Long Necks. Yeah, they'd work, but why bother?

Mine is strung through-body with D'Addario XL Nickelwounds, just the standard length ones, and they work fine. I'm thinking you could use whatever you wanted.

I would go with DR Hi-beam or Fat-Beam.

Cool. Glad to hear there are options. My Lakland 55-01 is pretty limited if you want to string through the body. Might be because of the 35" scale though.
