String suggestions for my new Squier Deluxe V

Sign in to disble this ad
The UPS man just delivered my black 2008 Squire Deluxe V that I bought off of ebay. The bass is great, but I am finding the strings it came with a bit bright for my taste.

Since I don't slap and prefer a more mellow sound, I was thinking about trying flatwounds on it. How well would flatwounds work on this bass?

I've had Thomastik Jazz flats on a P bass in the past and loved them (but not the price). Do D'Addario chromes have a similar sound and feel the Thomastik strings?
