Question String Winders

Sign in to disble this ad
I know everyone's seen thier guitard using a string winder to put new strings on, they save hours, and wrists. But is there any other sizes to them? i'd need one with an internal width of 4cm (nearly 2 inches) can anyone help me?

Planet Waves Bass Winder Pro is 1 3/4" inside. It's almost too big on Fender tuners.

+1, the planet waves is a good string winder - a tool that is especially useful for those of us with straight (ie non-tapered) posts who may put up to 4 winds around them! I have one of these but without the built-in string cutter. It's probably as big as you would need, certainly does the job on my big fender elephant ears. Any bigger and you'd be hitting adjacent tuners, methinks.

sold at Guitar sent for under ten bucks, includes cutter, and works well, its the same Planet Waves as mentioned previously...
(i don't think this particular one is the bass winder model but you get the idea)

If you have Fender style tuners this one fits on a cordless screwdriver:
