Stringing a 5 DADGC and DADAD, What Guage hich C?

Sign in to disble this ad
I plan on getting a Warick Thumb 5 so I can tune it these two ways. I want to know what would be the right guage for the High C. I use DR highbemas 40-100 on my 4 strings. ANd I wanna keep it light for the high C. I went to guitar center and Tried the Ibanez BTB 406 and I tried to tune the C to a D and It felt like it was about to break and second, Im not sure what the the scale guage on that, But Ive read around here to Hich C string guages of .032 and .028, But I cant confirm it. SUggestions please, Remember, The Thumb is 34" Scale, But im also going to tuning the C up to a D on occasion, Suggestions please, the more input, the better.
