Strings on a 2001 Sadowsky?

Hi gang,
If anyone here knows the answer would you be so kind to educate me as to what type of strings (rounds) would have come stock on a 2001 NYC Sadowsky STD? All I know is the silk is silver blue-ish.
Thanks everybody.
Peas and happy new year!
Chuck

You should email Sadowsky's shop. If anyone knows, it would be them.

I believe La Bella makes the Sadowsky strings now.

They are more than likely Sadowsky Blues. The basses come with blues unless you ask for something different.

The guages are 45 65 85 105 and 130 tapered on the "B" string.

You can go on the Sadowsky site for info on the Blues and Blacks but they are both stainless steel.

I prefer D'Addario Prosteels which are more like the Blacks.

I'm pretty sure Sadowsky Blues didn't exist in 2001...

Yeah, I think the Sadowsky strings didn't come out until 5 or so years ago.

Sadowsky branded bass strings have been around since the early 90's, at least.

Just because they didn't exist in name 5 years ago doesn't mean they didn't under another name.

I'm willing to bet that if he got some Blues they'd be pretty damn close, assuming both sets are new.

Roger makes changes over time but not drastic changes. Other than pickup style and location, my '03 or so 24 fret and my brand new Vintage 5 are almost identical. There are some minor differences, thicker peg head, VTC, string tree. Other than these they're the same bass with a different tone.

They have nickel and steel in both blue and black.

I've never used any of the blacks, do they have black silks? I read somewhere they were actually silverish like the OP was asking about.

Maybe they previously had black silks at some point? Not 100% sure on that but I do know they're currently silver.

The Blue Labels weren't released until around 2007 so a 2001 NYC bass definitely didn't come with them stock.

How could a 12 year old bass possibly have original strings on I hat you'd like the sound of enough to ask this? I find this thread very confusing.

I don't know the models but can it be a new model with a 2001 name?

Like a Fender 1962 P bass is actually brand new... I get so excited in for sale threads only to find they are reissues :-(

i bought it used recently and it was in virtually untouched condition. the seller said that they were the original strings '01 and they didn't sound bad at all.
i figured i'd try to see what they were (then) if i want to replace them with the same.
thanks
peas everybody!

Blue labels have only been out about 4 years or so. Before that only the black labels were available. They never had blue silks on them My guess is they aren't the strings that were originally shipped on the bass when new
