Strings for a '57P Nash

Sign in to disble this ad
I just picked-up a Nash '57P... it has Lindy Fralin pups. The strings are roundwound, back in the 60's my original P's had flats. Admittedly I'm less than comfortable with the rounds on this new piece. Any suggestions?... I lean towards flats but am open to any ideas. Thanks.

Strictly "old school" (I'm a finger not a pick player & I slap almost never)

Then you should put flats on it all the way. If you want an almost upright sound, try the Thomastik-Infeld Jazz flats. If you want jamerson, look at Labella deep talking flats. For old school tones, you can't go wrong with a good P-bass and flats.
