Strings for 76 P

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently got my 76 P back from a friend I had lent it to years ago and it is in desperate need of strings.

I need a recommendation for a good set to bring out that vintage P chunkiness with a touch of added brightness, any recommendations are welcome.

You can't go wrong with Fender 7250's.

IMO Fender 7250s aren't a bad idea if you want to go with rounds. They're not too warm but not overly bright either. If it were my '76 Precision, I'd be putting flats on that piece. When I read "touch of added brightness", Chromes were the first thing that came to mind. I have Chromes on my P-bass, and it can get both warm and chunky but it also has a bit of top if you roll the tone knob.
